Acceptable Use Policy

Policies Terms of Service Privacy Policy Acceptable Use Refund Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy protects IDCS Atlas customers, infrastructure, networks, and the public. It applies to all content, systems, users, and traffic associated with an IDCS Atlas account or Service.

1. General rule

You may use the Services only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not harm others, interfere with networks, evade security controls, or expose IDCS Atlas or its providers to unreasonable legal, security, or operational risk. You are responsible for use by your employees, contractors, customers, applications, and end users.

2. Illegal activity and rights violations

You must not use the Services to create, host, transmit, promote, facilitate, or distribute:

  • content or activity that violates applicable law, regulation, court order, sanctions, or export controls;
  • child sexual abuse material, sexual exploitation, non-consensual intimate imagery, or content that facilitates abuse of a child;
  • fraud, impersonation, phishing, credential theft, deceptive schemes, or unlawful financial activity;
  • content that infringes copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, or other rights; or
  • credible threats, targeted harassment, unlawful discrimination, or instructions intended to cause unlawful physical harm.

3. Network and security abuse

Without the informed permission of the system owner, you must not:

  • gain or attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems, or data;
  • scan, probe, exploit, intercept, or test the vulnerability of a third-party system;
  • launch or facilitate denial-of-service attacks, traffic floods, amplification attacks, or botnets;
  • spoof source addresses, manipulate headers, or conceal the origin of abusive traffic;
  • distribute malware, ransomware, spyware, cryptojacking software, malicious scripts, or exploit kits; or
  • operate open proxies, open relays, recursive DNS resolvers, or similar services in a way that enables abuse.

Legitimate security testing is permitted only on systems you own or are expressly authorised to test, and must not affect third parties or shared infrastructure.

4. Spam and abusive communications

You must not send unsolicited bulk messages, operate purchased or harvested mailing lists, distribute messages without legally required consent, or continue sending messages after a valid opt-out. Mail systems must use appropriate authentication and reasonable list hygiene. Similar rules apply to SMS, messaging platforms, comments, and automated account creation.

5. Resource and platform abuse

You must not:

  • use shared resources in a sustained manner that materially degrades service for other customers;
  • circumvent quotas, rate limits, billing controls, or technical restrictions;
  • run unauthorised cryptocurrency mining or other workloads prohibited by the applicable plan;
  • resell a Service where the order or plan does not permit resale; or
  • use the Services primarily to host files, traffic, or activities that generate persistent abuse complaints without taking effective corrective action.

Plan-specific resource limits and fair-use requirements shown in an order, product description, or control panel form part of this Policy.

6. Security responsibilities

You must keep software reasonably current, secure administrative access, prevent open or default credentials, monitor systems appropriate to their risk, and respond promptly to compromise or abuse notices. A compromised server remains your responsibility, even when the harmful activity was not intentional.

7. Enforcement

We may investigate suspected violations and may request information or corrective action. Depending on severity, history, urgency, and risk, we may rate-limit, filter traffic, isolate a server, remove content where technically feasible, suspend or terminate Services, or preserve and disclose information as permitted or required by law.

We will normally seek a proportionate response and provide notice where practicable. Immediate action may be taken for active attacks, child safety matters, malware, fraud, serious legal risk, or threats to network stability. We are not required to provide advance notice where doing so could increase harm or obstruct an investigation.

8. Reporting abuse

Send reports to [email protected]. Include the relevant IP address or hostname, timestamps with time zone, logs or message headers, a description of the issue, and contact information for follow-up. Do not send passwords, full payment-card details, or unrelated sensitive information.

Copyright or rights complaints should identify the protected work or right, the specific material or location at issue, the complainant's authority, and a good-faith statement explaining the requested action.

9. Changes

We may update this Policy to address new threats, legal requirements, or service changes. Material updates will be published with a revised date and, where practicable, reasonable notice.
